Bohemian Rhapsody should have been playing over the speakers during this fun photoshoot in downtown Des Moines!
Photographer Riley Glenn and Lavender Blue were dreaming in color for weeks about their latest adventure into the world of macrame accents and peacock chairs, still just as funky as when this look was first popular in the ‘70s. Florals by Lavender Blue were a mixture of corals, and oranges, toned down slightly by a mixture of greenery with grey undertones.
Vintage vibes were created with the help of rental items from a local vendor, Drift Salvage Decor. A green velvety loveseat sat under the soft glow of a chandelier, and wicker baskets with orange gerbera daisies embellished the space at the feet of the bride and groom.
The smells of mini-bundt cakes from Little Blackbird Bakery wafted through the old downtown factory space and we were all anxiously awaiting our forks sinking into their goodness at the end of our shoot.
Bohemian dress designs were chosen by Weddings by Design in Des Moines, with dressing and style set up by them. Their amazing, intricately detailed gowns were so stunning and were comfortable to wear for a long evening of photography.
Skeffington’s Formalwear in Des Moines Iowa provided a bright and eye-catching tuxedo with the very popular cornflower blue color. This color has been all over the runways of the wedding shows we have been attending.
